If they lowered the time needed, I’ve yet to hear it. Would be nice to not have a 2500FW limit imposed

Default Pay question

Hey all, I'm a new hire and just trying to figure out pay.

On training pay I'm getting around $900 a check after taxes and trying to budget for an apartment, any ideas on what I can reasonably expect once flying the line? I know it's going to go up but unclear with all the little things that get added in later (IE: Per-diem).

Trying to figure out if I need to be budgeting for an apartment, or sucking it up and living with extended family in-domicile. I suppose living with family isn't as bad when you are gone 4 days a week.

I budgeted $1200 every check...not to include per diem, having a line, etc. Just min amount to be paid if I didn't fly at all. Being on reserve is a crap shoot. Some months you'll fly everyday, others you'll be lucky to fly 3 days the whole month. I personally recommend budgeting as if you don't fly a single hour that way you are still good should that actually happen.

What limit? 2500FW?

It's probably a hold-over from days past when men were men, flew turboprops, and mountains were scared... especially at night in blizzards.

Not necessarily upgrade..... CA class allotments (transition/upgrades). I don't mean to be a jerk but I remember reading on facebook awhile back that someone was complaining about why they are only awarding transitions and not allowing anyone to upgrade........
