ATL will go Jr, and you can do “soft landings” huge for XJT folks.. upgrade will crash to under a year by spring (my prediction) ive been alpa and have watched OO carefully with the union deal.. i have not seen one shady thing happen to a pilot... except DD and that was a personal conflict between 2 people that got resolved... (and i saw him driving a Porsche, so it couldn’t have been that bad for him)

Thanks for your input! You're right about the soft landing, it's definitely a factor am weighing among others. Hard to not consider PSA with that flow and short upgrade as well. I do rather the SKYWEST bases though. Am conflicted to say the least. They seam like two pretty descent gigs.

I’m surprised not more ASA guys are taking the “soft landings”.. I can see why they may not want to as we (OO) look like the bad guys.. But reality is upgrades are going to crash to under a year. And ATL/DTW will be Jr.. with soft landings you could be on 10 year pay as a Captain in a year.. (assuming your a 8 year ASA pilot)...

They also have many other options that are equal or better. Many other regionals are offering massive sign on and retention bonuses with a flow agreement to fall back on.
I imagine a lot of ASA guys are moving on to majors and LCCs as well which is obviously better than the soft landings offer.

I think you answered your own question. I'm sure most just don't want to work for the company that shut them down. I don't blame them.

Anybody who can of course move on to larger pastures, should. But for some senior folks who are too old, tired, skeletons, etc soft landings might be a financial godsend, relatively speaking. I'll give SKW credit for that, if they just wanted to poach FO's from other regionals they could have capped it at 2-3 years.
Even with some skeletons you can get yourself into a LCC which will pay more by 3 years than Skywest even with soft landing starting you at 10 years on the pay scale.
The guys only 2 or less years from retirement would benefit the most from the massive sign on bonuses from other regionals.
I only see a small niche for the soft landing with the current demand for pilots.

Anyone catch this quote from InSight:
"InFlight Standards has been busy preparing the necessary information for the additional ERJ 175 aircraft we will be operating in the AS system soon. These aircraft will have slight differences in the cabin which will be communicated through an issued Alert Bulletin."
Hopefully they are not talking about the QX aircraft we were rumored to be getting toward the end of this year.
