Soft Landing 2.0 IS APPROVED!
I hope this positive trend of pilots getting paid for their experience continues across our industry!
The 20-year pay scale that has plagued our industry for decades by restricting a free market for pilots is hopefully coming to an end everywhere!

I'll eat my words once this is common practice at the majors. But until then this is just a scheme for regionals to poach from other regionals. Nothing more than another giveaway of leverage that only benefits new hires, and a small sub-group of pilots already on property.
Where is the reward for the pilots who were smart and did their research and came to SkyWest FIRST?!?! as opposed to rewarding the regional hoppers who got burned chasing the quick upgrade.

After a short browse on swol, I didn't find any info on medical leave of absence.
Any one able to point me in the right direction on info about the process? Not related to my medical cert and didn't want to ask chief pilot yet because it hasn't been confirmed, but I might schedule a shoulder surgery.

Pretty painless process.

Skywest v2.0
Not everyone that started at another regional is a hopper chasing a quick upgrade. And on top of that, some that take advantage of this may have been burned by Skywest to begin with.

We are hiring at bare minimums. Many times new hires need to log their sim time just to qualify.
If the 1500 rule isn't changed and if we wouldn't give them things like soft landing 2.0 and part time pilots, Skywest would soon be noticing it in the hiring department.
I guess the only thing I like about the new pay package is that it is so bad that it might cause people not to come here.

They may not be feeling it severely yet but they will.

They may not be feeling it severely yet but they will. Every other regional is, and Skywest is not immune to it. Unless SAPA keeps giving them a life raft.
