Just ignore Mowgli65. Look at his post history. 100% negative. SkyWest may not be perfect, but it's far from the worst place. It might not be the best choice for everyone, but it's the best choice for many.

Oooo and I love how crew support will gladly "bend" the rules to make sure reserves don't break guarantee and if god forbid they do they're surely gonna make it painful!

I agree. I'm honestly getting sick and tired of all the belly-aching bull**** people keep slinging out about OO. Sure, it has it's issues like everyone else, but one thing is certain. It provides a ton of flying for everyone who wants it. More flying means faster progress, flight time accumulation, upgrade. Checking the boxes so pilots can throw the apps out to the majors. I've flown part 91, 135, and now this. In a year and half as a "newb" FO, I've made more money with this company than any other operation I've flown for. This is also the first and only company I'vd flown for that's paid me a bonus. The ones I hear whining and crying on here are usually ones who were offered this gig right after flight instructing in 172s or Pipers. The ones who racked up hundreds or thousands of hours flying freight around all hours of the night in bad weather by themselves don't seem to mind flying 85-90 hours a month mostly during the day with 16-18 days off a month. It's all perspective. Does OO give you the flying you supposedly desired when you wanted this job? If the answer is yes, then you're in the best place for now. Get it and move on. Simple as that.

16-18 days off a month??? Who the fck are you kidding?
16 days off a month means your either in Dtw or have been here 10 years

So, does that statement change anything? Is crew support going to read this and say, "Oh, we'll stop bending the rules to make pilot's lives better"? Highly doubtful. If you don't like the situation, CHANGE something YOU can change. Otherwise, you're gonna drive yourself batty.

And I am entirely sick of you kool aid drinkers that think this place is the best thing since sliced bread!!! Get a clue! We have ZERO leverage thanks to 53% Look at the bonuses management is getting and ask yourself if 1% was worth whoring yourself out for...
We are deeply divided between the status quo and the pilots who actually want to make this place worth while for everyone. Step one: new sapa reps that have a backbone, starting at the top!!!!

The sooner potential pilots start seeing past the smoke and mirrors that OO (and you company pilots) put out the better for everyone!

I've been here for a year and three months, SLC based FO, holding lines since March. I've had several months with 14-16 days off. I know that's not the case for junior SLC captains. More than likely, I will switch bases when I upgrade down the road. Still, I hold just about what I bid for (73%) out of SLC. Not too shabby for now.
