I flew with a captain a couple of weeks ago who supposedly talked to a few big wigs in management about new 900s. Bombardier has around 30-40 new airplanes sitting around that nobody wants and they're willing to sell them for a song and a dance. We'll see how this rumor turns out.
Those rumors where spread to get jr guys to vote yes and it worked. Every sapa rep that promised this growth for a passing package should resign their position if it doesn't actually happen.

There not planes sitting around waiting for a buyer.
No OEM is building aircraft to stock. They are generally build to order.
Bombardier may be desperate however to keep the production line going by selling some new 900 for marginal cost.
Don't expect a sizable number of new planes before late 2018 if there will be an order for new equipment.

Anyone who believes that seriously needs help. They can make the 900's but to say they have 30-40 new planes just sitting is crazy. They don't even have room to park 30 planes at the plant.

Montreal may not be *kicking out* the commercial airframes but they sure as heck didn't build a single 900 without a home.
CRJ900 First half of 2017:
Delivered 11 CRJ 900 airframes
New CRJ 900 orders = 10
Backlog still to be produced = 25
Bombardier is a public company with all of this information reported to the SEC.

The Canadian government had to bail them out similar to the way our's bailed out General Motors years ago. Several orders were cancelled as production was finalized on the new airplanes. Many regional airlines are switching to 175s and getting away from new CRJs.

People are not wired to cut sunk costs and run. Getting the 175 program up and running was probably really expensive. My money would be that they limp into the autumn reduced schedule and figure things out.
Because this is aviation...Horizon is probably the best place to go right now to be at the tip of whatever they announce the day after tomorrow.
Seems like regionals that look the most bleak transform into "brah, upgradez "
