It seems pretty simple to understand their UA plans. Their status as of March 14, 2017. They are not adding a single aircraft other than the E175.
SW added 5 E175s this year with plans for 6 more. Mesa plans to add 12 more E175s this year. Republic plans to add 12 more E175s this year. Unless Mesa or Republic cannot deliver, or another airline looks for SW to supply E175s, our growth in the E175 this year will be front-loaded.
CRJ200s, CRJ700s, and ERJ145s are exiting.

I hope Mesa ups their pay and treats pilots better. Going to be a lot of competition between SkyWest and Republic and Mesa for the United bid.

Two of the nicest people I know are former Mesa FOs. They would never recommend them to anyone.

It's the management. I'm sure they have a great pilot group, but from the top down the approach is to save a penny over spending two that could save a dollar.
So pilots trying to gain experience they need for a legacy go with hopes of quick advancement, only to realize why the turnover is so high.
It's similar to low tier convenience store vs working at a Costco. Both will pay you but Costco offers 401k, dental etc.

Disclaimer: I realize the company doesn't treat pilots well and pay isn't great.

Quick question about the second paragraph. Are you saying Mesa is a good place for pilots looking for a quick upgrade and progression onto a legacy? I mean anyone going to Mesa should not be lifers right? They should go in with the intention of upgrading fast and going to bigger better things fast. I think the company fully supports that idea of people getting in and out.

Companies like that (Mesa, GoJet, Trans States) have no regard for the pilot's career progression, they only do business in the name of being cheap.
I was told early on by a legacy pilot to not fly for a shady outfit. Yes you want to build your time and advance, but not at the cost of your career.
