You don't want ALPA. You just feed money into mainline's war chest.

At thr end of the day if alpa got voted in the company would drag out the contract process.. We would be stalled for atleast 5-6 years given past history with regionals.. Plus in the end right now, we have the same of better conditions as others.. Plus we cant even get 49% of our pilots to even vote on anything!!!

Aren't these multiple different discussions though?
I am not saying that I am approving or dis-approving RJ in any way. But participation was relatively high at 49% - higher than any other SAPA election I can recall (and comparable to 55.4% in the most recent election for US President).
RJ got 62% of the votes.... to me that is more of a landslide victory that other people have claim for presidential elections recently.
I thought the other candidates had very valid points but this was a clear endorsement for RJ.
Again, that doesn't mean things are perfect at all. And we should keep pushing for improvement but I don't think it can be dismissed as a completely anemic pilot group.

They don't want to create a situation where there might be a common carrier petition or SLI because...
1) XJT + ASA + part of the SKW pilot group would probably vote in ALPA.
2) SGU does feel an obligation not to let XJT pilots integrate into SKW with a seniority above any SKW pilot. The only way to do that is by not integrating at all.

Black leather, preferably goatskin, right? Is there something different about a SKW leather jacket?

There are actually two styles used at SKW, Gibson & Barnes from ten+ years ago and the current Perrone. As far as I know both are still authorized (I still use G&B), so if you can find a used G&B that should work too. I actually like the Perrone better but not enough to buy one since my G&B still works fine.

They may have voted in 10% increase and it still wouldn't have satisfied someones best interest.
I agree that we probably had way more leverage than we thought and probably left money on the table. But apparently a large enough number of folks was happy with what was offered.
Hopefully, this will be a lesson for the next go-around.

What is best interest? Or what is acceptable to you/most?
