Skywest is only matching premiums up to $50 for the first 3 months... so non-factor. Also, the fact that you think you could retire early if you lose your medical with this insurance tells me you haven't done much research on the subject. But hey, if somebody says you should buy something to give yourself an edge, most pilots do haha
Also comparing this insurance to any other insurance such as primary health insurance isn't really apples to apples either. However I see value in my health insurance as I not only avoid a penalty due to it being required, I also enjoy getting to take my sick kids to the doctor for only a co-pay each visit as well as not paying the full cost of labor and delivery come later this summer

That is the purpose of this insurance. That's why it extends to age 65.

Take the coverage. If you lose your medical you will get it back a lot quicker if you have the coverage.

MSP is slowing down pretty fast. Unless you have some new info this month it's already been discussed you could get SLC before MSP. Maybe you have some info I don't but MSP doesn't look junior anymore. All classes are getting ORD/DTW the last 2 months

MSP is in a temporary lull because of the expansion in ORD mostly. There will still be movement with the constant upgrades going on and people transferring out. I even heard that they are going to bump up the crj upgrades from 30 a month to 40.

Please do enlighten me on how I could not take an early retirement if I take this insurance (and of course adequate coverage) and lose my medical for one of the qualifying events (no drunk driving accident, etc).

When you say things that don't make any sense I hope you except someone to call you out on it. I wasn't hostile. I'm simply asking you to explain.
