Seniority and Time of Checkin have their merits and drawbacks, and I do wish we were able to go ahead of mainline employee parents and children who are traveling alone. Kinda stinks when that 17 year old kid is sitting in business class, while I've been making DL and UA money, but sit in coach. But this is true for all the legacies.

Heard a funniest thing yesterday from a Skywest jumpseater. He said Skywest was gonna purchase Republic after they come out of bankruptcy! Now he seemed pretty serious about it, and he also seemed pretty new by the looks of his uniform and all the brand new crew bags. So I asked who's gonna purchase who? He said " well Skywest would buy Republic duh we're a pretty serious company and we wouldn't settle for anything else". God I love pilots such a strange group of people. Thank god he had a seat in the back! There's nothing worse than some fresh outta school super pilot talking about his dreams and how he's going to get on with delta cause he knows people.

I believe if they needed somebodies airplanes, they would just buy them outright or wait for a BK fire sale.

Also not entirely true. AA benefits go by time of checkin within your category. AA employees (D2) go first by TOC. Then D2P (parents) by TOC. D3 and so on. Jumpseaters are D6. Through pax (D2T, D3T) also jump to the top of the list, which actually makes sense to me. So when connecting through a mega-hub, you might actually have a chance at making your connecting flight.

Anyone know why I can't start my own thread? Is there a post minimum?

i know that it isn't awarded often, but if it was, does TDT give you positive space to and from work?
