My comment was all for MSP reserve. You won't sit that long in Chicago or Detroit. Just giving you perspective to what to expect if you want MSP. Won't take long to get it looks like but progress looks pretty slow right now. Not saying it'll be that way in 6 months though. Lots changes. Ask that question when you get a class date...my biggest regret was planning it all out for COS which was a great base to get and move up. Now I'm in class....takes 6 months + just to get COS let alone move lol!

It's a regional. They all suck in the grand scheme for the average line pilot. But to keep bashing it with no backing is ridiculous. If it's that bad, leave. But you won't, because you're paid better than average.
Actually we are now well below average, but keep voting in those 1% raises.

FOs are, I have no clue about captains. We are still hiring enough pilots that there is no need to raise pay at the present moment. That could change eventually with TSA possibly raising pay to $50/hr. We would then be well below average in contrast to quite a few regionals. I think that we should push for whatever we can get, though.

According to lifers anyway.

Mainline profit sharing is actual money, but the guys here think we have it good
There are far more lifers at the majors. A "lifer" is a hostage, management knows this and uses it to their advantage, i.e. creation of the regional model. Nothing riles the sheeple like a little furlough talk, followed by streeting a few hundred new guys. When you get(if) to the majors, the old senior captain you will be sitting next to is potentially your worst enemy. Mainline senior guys have been skrewing the junior guys since Orville scheduled Wilbur to fly on his day off.
Being a lifer is a mentality, don't be a lifer wherever you are.
P.S. If you want someone to blame, look in the mirror, and then at the widebody CA who thinks that "stews" think he is cool because he has a iPhone holster, next to his sunglasses case on his belt.

How do you become a lifer at a major? Lol where else are they supposed to go after being captain on narrow or wide body...

Sept was the first month I could bid after training. Sat reserve in MSP for sept, oct and nov. Did long call Nov so actually flew a fair amount. Transferred to DTW for DEC and was bidding 65%. So actually got a good line and what I wanted...
