Can someone give me an idea of the total compensation you could make in the first year if you don't mind working a lot and including bonuses, etc?
Yes I've looked at APC and read the posts, I'm just looking for firsthand experience of the max you could bring home if you bust your butt.
Thanks in advance.

American priority for an American dedicated CRJ pilot (Ord etc) is AAC.
On American Skywest metal (operated) AAC has top piority over all others.
This is rare and you must be manually put in first priority by gate agent. I suggest having the American travel page up on Americans webpage to prove this to the gate agent.
On non-Skywest metal aac falls behind mainline and wholly owned. (other contractors like republic and mesa are also in this aac category)
Each priority level is decided by time of check in- not date of hire.
Jumpseaters (non American dedicated pilots are D6. Dead last I think.

Hey guys, thinking about throwing my hat in the ring for ORD CRJ CA though it'd be a lengthy commute and big QOL hit.... should I do it? How's things for junior ORD captains these days?

Is ORD an easy base to get out of training? I am within a year of hitting my ATP mins and am starting to seriously consider Regionals that I would be able to get a base at ORD (near where I live).

You will get ORD assigned while you're still in training. If they give you DTW or MSP first you'll most likely get ORD before you finish training.

Don't even stress about that right now. Because information now could be totally different in 6 months and then you'll get upset. I'm sure ORD will still be junior but ya just never know.

From what I think I remember, it was the US Airways system and after the merger, they voted it in. It sucks for the guys at the top of seniority, but it does force people to list pretty early (not like United where people list last second as the battle it out with their vacation passes). Also, it benefits those who are trying to non-rev on multiple legs since the time of checkin is allowed 24hrs prior to their first departure. So imagine someone leaving Europe and connecting in PHL and going to the west coast. They will be checked in for the PHL-west coast leg 10 hours before anyone who is just originating in PHL.
And for your Europe-PHL example, not only will people with connections be checked in first, they'll also get "through" priority. So for the 2nd segment, they'll go from D3 to D3T, which is a higher priority, for example.
The silver lining is that in my experience, flights are either so full that no one gets on, or so empty that everyone gets on.

So I start a course soon. The double occupancy hotels kind of took me by surprise before I applied. So, what if you're paired with someone who snores or gets up to pee 5 times a night? How have people managed?
Also, seems like there are some uniform choices, hat, leather jacket...not wanting to stand out, what's the norm?

As for uniform, a few words of wisdom:
1) Please do not wear the hat. Especially, God forbid, as an FO. At SKW it pretty much marks you as an instant tool.
2) Leather jacket is pricey but absolutely worth it for winter flying. The uniform blazer is fine for spring/fall months but absolutely inadequate for, say, ORD in wintertime. There's supposedly a long trenchcoat available but I have never seen a single pilot wearing it.
There's really not a lot of uniform 'choices' per se...
