On the SkyWest side company memo says don't worry this is all on the XJT side... And the 200 will play a future at SkyWest.

"Additionally, SkyWest and Bombardier entered into a termination agreement covering Bombardier’s residual value guarantee (“RVG”) agreements on 76 CRJ200 aircraft owned by SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet."
And with only 54 of them being at XJT there is gonna be some impact ....

I guess I don't know enough about the RVG stuff. It kind of sounds like an insurance fund at they have been paying into and now are cashing out, but I think I (we?) might be jumping the gun thinking the planes leave without RVG.
It sounds like the only definate plan is parking of ASAs 200s and so far the 200s we knew were leaving are still leaving.

What's truly maddening about OBR, and I have personally witnessed this multiple times, is that CS just hates to have reserves go 'unutilized.' They hate the idea of paying someone to sit at home. So here's what happens: They will call you at 0400 on Day 1 of your reserve block and deadhead you to another base halfway across the country — say, ORD. You'll sit there for 4 or 5 days. Maybe you'll fly, maybe you won't. Meanwhile, they do the same thing to some poor guy from ORD — they'll deadhead him to your base and have him sit there for 4 or 5 days. At the end of this time, you'll both be deadheaded back to your home bases. Neither of you will have flown a single leg, and all this really accomplished was wasting money for the company. But — and this is the key — Crew Scheduling will be able to report higher reserve utilization numbers.
A couple days ago, in a post on the Skywest FB group, someone from crew support vehemently denied that they do this. Those higher reserve utilization numbers? That's why nobody can drop anything.

Thanks to you and the others who posted for the details. I'm currently making a little over $43,000 a year instructing (before bonuses, closer to $47,000 after bonuses). Would be making over $50k if I took a promotion. Certainly not making an argument for staying instructing (hell no). Just comparing the wages.
Bit of a range though, between what you guys are saying a newhire could expect to make, and what someone who just finished their first year said that they made at ORD ($42k). $42k is sort of what I was expecting to see, and why I'm hesitant to go to Skywest when other locations are offering $60k and above. But he did say that was before training pay matched reserve and what not..
I'll figure it out. Thanks for the info!

Def jumping the gun on the 200 stuff
Guys. The 200 as the news stated is staying, we make a lot of cash off that plane just like we did with the bro till we were forced to retire them. This is actually good news for expressjet , with their attrition and going all dual class as a company they will have a future now

So please tell me how this is good for us on the ASA side at ExpressJet.
