At a regional without that pay protection you won't get paid for that day.
What it comes down to is you will probably credit about 90-95 hours each month at Skywest. Other places you are many times just getting the minimum monthly guarantee.
That's an extra 15-20 hours of pay each month.
This is huge, and I miss this greatly. First year guarantee here at 5Y is 50 hours (62 each month after 1 year). It was not unheard of to be removed from your line mid pattern once you had credited 50 hours of pay to be sent home to sit a 10 hour callout at home. This type of reserve is unpaid and there is no line guarantee so if you don't work it you lose it

Of course they're not doing that now due to staffing, but I nearly choked on a chicken bone when I found out about this.

In my opinion, the hard 24 hour 4:12 is better than an ADG. Even at mainline the discrepancy of an average trip credit or daily guarantee per "duty" period brings their 5+ hour trip rigs down.

You have to have a valid reason. I took several months when my daughter was born. I also took intermittent leave when my grandma had cancer, so that I could take her to doctors appointments. The leave people can answer all of your questions.

Fly one leg at night. Barely sleep for 4 hours and fly back early next morning. Good paying ones (6 hrs or more) go pretty senior to non commuters.

Anyone know the next few class dates for the 175? I'm eyeing Jan 2 CRJ, but am wondering if there is an early Jan 175, too.

Hi all, new hire here supposed to be starting CTP in DEC.

Can anyone clarify business casual ? The email listed what not to wear... I assume polos and khakis or similar will be ok ?

Also, I interviewed at a career fair so I didn't get the whole company presentation song and dance. With a few offers on the table I guess I'm just a little nervous I'm making the right choice.

With that said - is Skywest projecting any growth in the near future ? or is it just the 175 I read about? any other pertinent info about real life day to day a new hire with cold feet should know ?

thanks

"From The Top Rope....
We are considering another Ord crew room"

With the few Ord American pairings this month I'd have to guess this hints towards replacing the American 700s that went to PHX.

Or ?

Default E175 flight hours

How much actual flying do SkyWest ERJ pilots get? Trying to get it from the source. West coast preferably, PDX would be my pick, but any info is appreciated.

Have to pick the E175 or CRJ. Weighing out all criteria, but trying to understand the higher upgrade times on the ERJ and what to expect in logged hours/month.
I'm starting at zero jet time, most junior-junior.

Thanks!

As a line holder probably 60-80 block, credit more than that. How long to hold a line? No idea, we're getting 8 175s on the delta side alone between now and the end of the year so I would say pretty quick. Upgrade On 175 is a grey area. Ppl are getting it around 4 years and more but we're also staffing senior bases. They just started awarding it to Chicago ppl at 4 years so going down and like I said lots of 175s coming. Whole point is the 175 is in flux, the CRJ is as close to a certainty on reserve and upgrade times as you're going to get.
