It is hard to believe such a "good company" would treat it's new pilots like that.

It is a new day. Double occupancy hotels should be absolutely unacceptable.

I agree, even though it's not the end of the world. I, for one, am a very light sleeper, so it's a factor in deciding between airlines. Some other dude moving around all night, snoring, coming in at different hours, etc, would be a pain in the butt.

I did sims in ATL (this was over 2 years ago) and paid for my own room. Had I not, it would have been 2 guys sharing 1 regular hotel room with two beds, no kitchen, just a microwave and mini-fridge. The Drury @ ATL...never ever ever again.

Which airline or airlines did all THAT? From '91, when I was hired at Eagle, we were paid from day one of ground school, even though the program was so backed up that it took three months to get through a six week program. We were also paid per diem during ground school, sim, and flight training (yep, we actually flew the real plane for a few nights before our final checkride in the actual airplane - how things have changed, lol). We were put in single occupancy rooms. And we never paid a dime for any of our company manuals (some airlines actually CHARGED their pilots for Jepps?).
