In the bases, I'm looking to choose a CRJ base where I can stay at with lots of hours, short time to holding a line and quick upgrade/where I'd be based after upgrade. If there is a mix of 2/7/900 would be good too. Any Ideas? Just did the OO CTP Course and Starting Ground 11/7. I was thinking MSP but seems a long wait after IOE now?

Thank you
Bunch of people in the class ahead of me got MSP. Mainly ORD though.

You should want to max out your HSA/year. So you should be looking at about $750 monthly doing that.

Our kids made us hit the max out of pocket. 10k at the time.

Those rehired retain prior longevity pay, but start over at the bottom of the seniority list.
Anyone care to expand on this policy? My buddy was hired back in 2010. He left and now was recently re-hired. Would he be eligible for this new policy?

Get based in any of the California bases, and when the baby comes you will get paid by the state for baby bonding. I took the full six weeks and was paid based on my best quarter at 66%. I did not live in the state, but was based in Fresno.

Thanks for all the info. Kinda scary for those of us living in civilized countries that have nationalized health systems...

By civilized you mean 70% income tax and a nine month wait list to see a doctor?

Funny I've only heard the 9 month wait to see a doctor quote from Americans. I've never heard it from people I know who actually live in a single payer countries. Most of my friends over there are appalled when I tell them I haven't been to a doctor in 15 years because I can't afford to go to one for any minor issues.

They certainly do pay more income tax than me so that part is always open for debate.

I am sure there are better practices than the UK NHS. But it should make you pause to know that the US spends 70% more on healthcare (as a percentage on GDP) than any other civilized Western nation (Health expenditure, total (% of GDP) | Data)

Yet the outcomes are worse along pretty much any dimension - here a comparison of US (http://www.who.int/gho/countries/usa.pdf) vs. CA (http://www.who.int/gho/countries/can.pdf?ua=1).

THREAD CREEP!!! I'm in.

As the previous poster said in regards to our actually dollars as a % of our GDP, we could simply fork over the same amount of $ on hellcare and none of my fellow Americans would ever have to worry or wait to go to a hospital. With the cash we spend we could have doctors on standby for doctors who are on standby. The trick is cutting out the mega corporations out of what is obviously not a marketplace.

So if you do your CTP in mid-December and then start Indoc in early January, your seniority within the class would be from the December date, right? (most senior in the new class, given nobody else did the same..)
