With the downturn in oil UAL cut capacity in Houston. There is a chance that some of the flying went to the shelf to be dusted off later.

If based in MSP, do you only get Delta flight benefits?

You and your parents, spouse and children, can fly standby on any Delta or United flight for free. If you don't have a spouse you can designate a companion and they can pay a deeply discount fee to fly standby. This includes any international flight as well. You'll have to pay some taxes when departing most international locations, and they can vary from $15 to $150 a person. Delta you can upgrade to first/business class for free. United you can pay a fee to upgrade, which varies quite a bit. It gets more complicated and I don't feel like explaining the priority you get when non-revving vs. other non-revs.
