Um, no. I for one am junior and know how to bid. It's why my schedule comes out consistently better than captains with years of seniority on me. It's not my fault they don't understand how PBS works and I do. I don't want them seeing how often my schedule is better than theirs and realizing they need to bid differently to get what they want.
If you're junior, and actually really know how to bid, this is a bad idea, long term your schedule will turn worse.

I have actually offered advice some tips via PM to some of the posters here. Not an expert, but being a perpetual junior does give you time to practice. I have also asked for help from some regulars on here and never heard a peep back. If you are more senior to me, you should have the trip. And we should be more willing to help our group vs making sure that I get mine. In a perfect world I guess...

What are you even talking about? Exactly what conspiracy theories have I alluded to?
I agree, probably 99% of perceived PBS errors, are actually user errors. However, there have been several times where PBS has messed up, and awarded pairings out of seniority. Although admittedly rare, it has and does happen. Ask any of the guys who have PBS viewership. Remember last year when they had to re-run the entire bid because PBS jacked it up so badly?
It's really simple, publishing the awards (not the actual bids) provides more transparency, which makes it easier to spot errors, on the very rare cases that they happen. Nothing more, nothing less.

Its odd that ppl don't learn pbs, a huge part of your QOL is your schedule, why wouldn't you put the time in?

Every month our system DOES award outside of seniority order, to "globalize" for the sake of company efficiency. This isn't a ”mess-up” isn't one of its errors.
Efficiencies.
It's not our beauty that lets us cover more flying with fewer pilots than other airline.
It's YOU getting that crappy (or amazing) month of flying that makes efficiencies happen because you are a resource to be optimized. Your senority is a guideline.
To learn (Globalizing) PBS is to understand that you still need luck.

Will the bids being published do any good? Probably not, but when the pilot group finally gets pi**ed off enough something will give(great water bottle debacle of 2015) if your were here for that.....

Unless you're number one you can't hold everything and anything all the time.
