If you're junior, and actually really know how to bid, this is a bad idea, long term your schedule will turn worse.
Jesus Christ Dude. What about the good of the pilot group as a whole? That is really a disgusting point of view you have...and I'm way more junior than you I bet.

The most ironic thing of all was he/she was just weeping and wailing in May of 2014 on the old SkyWest thread about how PBS screwed up so bad. But now that it's figured out, to hell with everyone else.

I have actually offered advice some tips via PM to some of the posters here. Not an expert, but being a perpetual junior does give you time to practice. I have also asked for help from some regulars on here and never heard a peep back. If you are more senior to me, you should have the trip. And we should be more willing to help our group vs making sure that I get mine. In a perfect world I guess...

I agree, probably 99% of perceived PBS errors, are actually user errors. However, there have been several times where PBS has messed up, and awarded pairings out of seniority. Although admittedly rare, it has and does happen. Ask any of the guys who have PBS viewership. Remember last year when they had to re-run the entire bid because PBS jacked it up so badly?

It's really simple, publishing the awards (not the actual bids) provides more transparency, which makes it easier to spot errors, on the very rare cases that they happen. Nothing more, nothing less.
I didn't mean to Imply you are a conspiracy theorist, I meant that that is the excuse ppl on Sapa forum use to rationalize poor bidding technique

Its odd that ppl don't learn pbs, a huge part of your QOL is your schedule, why wouldn't you put the time in?

Every month our system DOES award outside of seniority order, to "globalize" for the sake of company efficiency. This isn't a ”mess-up” isn't one of its errors.

Efficiencies.

It's not our beauty that lets us cover more flying with fewer pilots than other airline.

It's YOU getting that crappy (or amazing) month of flying that makes efficiencies happen because you are a resource to be optimized. Your senority is a guideline.

To learn (Globalizing) PBS is to understand that you still need luck.

You're an idiot. We are the only company that hides the awarded flying and it's not due to some flight attendant stalking. You say your a pbs master being junior, and in a few years you have descent seniority you will get slammed. The logic of you can't bid something in all 7 layers goes 100% against seniority. If I can hold every sat and sun off please tell me why I can't bid it off in all 7 layers? Multiple times over the last few months I have seen trips awarded to junior people that I bid for. The reason report stated they were awarded senior.

Will the bids being published do any good? Probably not, but when the pilot group finally gets pi**ed off enough something will give(great water bottle debacle of 2015) if your were here for that.....

Unless you're number one you can't hold everything and anything all the time.

If you have 100 lines, 20 duty periods per day, the top 30 guys can and will get every weekend off if they want. Thats how you're wrong.
