Why type of headsets are used in the CRJs? Sennheiser, DC? And do people generally bring their own to use or everyone shares the airplane issue headsets?

You are required to provide your own at SkyWest. None are provided on the airplane. There is a wide variety at SkyWest from Bose to David Clarks. I'm a fan of the Clarity Alofts, but the headset thing seems to be an individual preference.

You gotta bring your own headset.

I've seen all kinds of headsets. DCs, Bose, clarity aloft, QT Halo, Sennheiser, Lightspeeds, etc. The most common one I've seen lately is the Bose QC15 with UFlyMike.

Airplane doesn't have any except a small set for the observer's seat. Everyone has their own.

DC aren't too common as they are heavy.

Bose with a UFLYMIKE are common, but are hated by some. They'll probably show up soon.

Don't skimp on the purchase. Get something light, comfortable, and preferably with ANC.

Ok, thanks for the replies. I now have a reason to upgrade my aging David Clark H10-13.4 to something a little more advance and comfortable.

I have the uflymike set up and I know you can adjust the squelch but still get a lot of feedback with hotmic. Furthermore I don't think they are making them anymore since the qc-15 is being replaced by bose

They are making a new mic called the harmony. Supposed to work with the qc-25 in addition to the earlier models depending on which mic you buy. Not sure when it's being released though.

Been on 175 reserve since February. Regret not visiting this forum before requesting the 175 (I'm a big boy so naturally I asked for the most comfy flight deck.) Have any new hire FO's transitioned from the Ejet to the CRJ? Is this unheard of?
