I'm not talking about the big number at the top. If you scroll down, the last pilot with a seniority number is 3933. 4 have the 9998 and the rest have 9999.
Great news about the new hire class. Hopefully it is 50 since we lost 10 pilots in training over the past 30 days. I must've missed the memo from TG and SAPA that lists out the upcoming class dates. Guess I need to find a friend in the training department so I can get basic information like upcoming new hire and transition classes. Last message I saw from TG with any of that info was last November. I guess those quick turn updates is taking up all his time.

My personal opinion is that they are pilots on our list but haven't started yet, miss their class date or go somewhere else. I would say about half of those were pretty far down the list and some have been on there for months. We do lose some pretty junior folks in MSP every month.
Thanks for the info. Looks like I found my inside source!!
If we are truly hiring 60-100 on the CRJ each month, I would be pretty upset if I had my transition locked. IMO, if we honored seniority there wouldn't be one new hire on the 175 while we had CRJ pilots that were being held back from transitioning.

I think I'm missing something. This made sense as long as there were only so many 175s with senior people transitioning into it. But with the scheduled fleet growth beginning soon, combined with only CAs getting transition slots, this should begin to change soon, no? How do you numerically define "eternal"?

It happens...not everyone can win. There are always more 1500 hour wonders to take their place. SkyWest unlike some of its competitors is still able to draw them in.

I don't see what your point in sharing that is in the SkyWest thread. I see that as more of a learning experience: humans fly airplanes, and they are capable of making mistakes under the right conditions despite how much experience they have.

Hello.
What will me life look like at skywest if I choose the E175 and ORD. I would really want to be based out of ORD but E175 would be nice.
I was thinking of interviewing this month, and choosing a class around DEC 2016, I know there is some wait time. I am tied up with my other job until then.
Also, would you advise to go to SKYWEST recruiting event ? or just apply and have them fly me down there ? Which one is better ?
Thank You

I read the whole post with a Jamaican accent after the first sentence.
