This mentality is so idiotic, I really don't get it. ALPA or not, Major or not.......you don't get what you deserve......you get what you can negotiate (ask for, demand, complain about.....whatever......)
Without people complaining, and demanding better, nothing will change. In fact, they get worse. You have to fight to get things you want in this world.
By your logic, we should should just take what we're given or offered? Just because? or because it happens at alpa carriers or mainline?
That mentality is the #1 problem with this industry.

We can either USE it, and demand improvements across the board.
OR p1ss it away, do nothing, and just take what we are given (continued crap).
Basic life facts folks.

So is it typical for Sked+ to be completely wrong with its open time legality evaluations?

Also, just a follow up thought. Regional pilots have immense leverage right now, probably more so than any other time in regional airline history.

From what I understand from the gouges and my interview experience is that if they want you they give you an offer then and there. I was given an offer on the CRJ.
Someone that knows how the recent seat lock works should explain the new hire seat lock. They explain it in the HR portion. If I would've known the details before interviewing I would've given more thought to aircraft request.

I believe it's if a new hire doesn't get their first preference for AC the seatlock is one year. If you get a class date in your preferred AC the seat lock is two years. If this is wrong please, please, please say now and set the record straight.

This is correct. I don't suggest you try play the system to get a one year lock unless you don't mind the aircraft you're "preferring", if base doesn't matter take the first class, you'll have seniority of the next class in the other aircraft as they don't run concurrently.
