Dear new kids,
Thank you for your interest in the 175. Waiting for a class date on this airframe will ensure you have the lowest possible seniority, sit the longest on reserve and spend your time at a regional flying as little as possible. If you plan right, you could also commute this entire time.
In other words, welcome to aviation. Pilots...the dumbest of the smart people.

I second the crj, get the seniority, transition later if you want to. You'll QOL will be better on the crj, plus you'll be ready for upgrade on either aircraft instead of learning a new one. Movement is full blast on crj side, erj has a lot of internal movement right now with new bases etc, 6 months from now may be a whole different picture on 185 but no one knows where the new birds will go or how senior.

Just so it isn't so easy for fence sitters, if i lived in base, could handle being on call, enjoyed being paid while sitting at home, fly three instead of five legs a day and didn't care about upgrading on an unfamiliar airplane (CRJ), I'd pick the EMB.
The Ord 175 reserve staffing has dropped from the previous ridiculous levels.

As opposed to a captain at a third tier regional? I'd go to K4 or Atlas tomorrow if I could stand being gone for 17 days...

First available class. The correct answer is always* take the first available class.
*exemptions available to applicants wanting to give 2 weeks notice and those desiring a domicile only available for one airframe.
