If you ask for proffered trips you will get them ahead of someone senior to you who didn’t. But yeah big win for SGU making skyw the worst reserve experience in the industry.

Cuts down on 150% trips floating around.
So how is it that they wrote the policy? How can the pilots be taken advantage of so badly with no benefit to them? How did nobody on the pilot group end catch the loophole?

The way SkyWest pilots keep telling me it's such an awesome place to work because of culture, work rules etc. it makes sense. Though to be fair it seems those days are gone as anyone with less than 3 years seniority doesn't glow about it.

I've read what was submitted by SAPA to the company, it couldn't have been written any worse than it is. Sadly as soon as the ink was dry, screw scheduling knew exactly how it was going to play out. TG and AS are very aware the pilots are livid but there is no turning back, they love it and they don't care. This interpretation of the 117 rules and the new extended delay program can basically add a day in front of your work period and a day at the end of it.

When you have a management team motivated by greed you will understand the direction SkyWest is going.

So how do you ask to proffer? Every time I go there it says "Bidding Closed"

Everyone 10 years ago wanted it!!! Fast forward 10 years. Half those guys are gone. The other half are not on reserve anymore!! So guess who’s stuck with this policy..... the Jr guys that weren’t even here when we wanted it...

Proffering by itself is desirable. The way it was implemented is where the screw up happened.

As far as I can tell, SAPA was just asleep at the wheel. They simply screwed up...

Unfortunately the "Employer of choice" is using it to it's full advantage with no regards to the pilot group. There's no going back.

What's great is they are offering the same screwed up system to the Flight Attendants, they're telling them the pilots "love it".

I have talked to two different crew scheduling supervisors and they both hate the system. They both specifically said they are burning through every reserve they have five days prior. The trips never go to 150% so who would want to help out

How reasonable would an MSP base be for a new hire to get out of training? If not right away, within a few months?

Got another CJO but the attractiveness of not commuting is strong.
