That was no surprise. They did it to 100 IAH crews and no one seemed to care. Maybe if it was SLC sapa would do something about it... Hahahaha. That’s funny.

The recruiters here will tell you anything. I have two Instructors that recently called and said the recruiters told them we had a Dallas base. I didn’t believe that’s what was said until I called the recruiter and got the same spill.

Is DFW really that far fetched? Rumors are ASA is winding down, even on the AA side. Can’t get butts in seats. Supposedly ASA dispatchers and crew support staff received their notice that the end of May is the end.

Yes it's far fetched to say we have a Dallas base when we do not have a Dallas base.

Maybe, we have a DFW base and SGU doesn’t want to disclose it until negotiations with winding down the ASA pilot group are finalized...... the recruiters know..... of course, the recruiters have been telling recruits this for over a year.

To tell prospective new hires that we have a base that isn’t an official, current, and publicly announced domicile is what most people with good morals consider a lie.
Your last statement is proof. Recruiters have been spreading that lie for over a year.

I’m not saying it won’t happen, but until it becomes a reality, they shouldn’t be telling people it is.

Inflight Training is saying DFW soon. My guess is, September’ish is the time frame.. if its not announced by then. It’s a dead end rumor... (I have my reason for that date)

Nobody did anything because there's absolutely nothing SAPA can do other then bring it up at the next meeting, company shrugs, SAPA shrugs, moving on, next item.
What's the solution?

Unfortunetly there is no solution.

SAPA is, by design, completely powerless in moving anything against the company when the company has decided what it is or isn't going to do. Continuing with the glimmer of hope that SAPA is a realm of true representation is 100% false when you have an organization that is not self funded.

The company has absolute full authority to tell SAPA how it is going to be and what it's going to get, and it is a narrow (minded) one way street.

SAPA may look like a union, might act like a union, may tell everybody it's a union, but it simply isn't. SAPA is a company expense that provides marketing to the pilot group to manipulate them to the direction the company sees fit. Nothing more!

This pilot group cannot see that because the company is getting every dollar's worth out of SAPA.

Sad

Realistically, we are due for another recession. What we need to be focusing on is making ourselves competitive for that time by either keeping compensation the same or considering a 2% pay cut across the board.
