Actually I think the moral of the story, when it relates to "Truthanator" is...

Drinking and posting on APC don't mix well.

I was reading through the SAPA VP candidate ads. Only one stuck out to me as any different than the rest.

BA's pitch wrote:

"I was not part of the past negotiations"

(I.E. I was not one of the ones responsible for pushing this last contract.)

"but will be pushing to open new pay negotiations to become industry leaders again"

I thought that stood out as well...

Meanwhile our president RJ sold a 1% raise to a majority of the pilot group and acts like he is doing the industry a favor.

Endeavor was already going to work the retention bonuses into their pay scales. With slight knowledge of the industry it was well known.

Republics new TA is also not a product of our 1%...

I know a lot of people wanted soft landing 2.0 to pass and I think this should be industry wide. But the pilot group should have had a vote on it. SAPA shouldn't assume anything.

Did ya know reps are voting on whether or not to allow the pilot group to vote on the pay package. NOT if they *agree* with the package.

The more you know brah. The more YOU know.

SO you don't think the emails from RJ didn't try to sell the TA?

The info and emails from management definitely tried to sell it!

Is RJ or mgmt running for VP?
Nope.

K.C. is out to lunch thinking his bid-for-days-off reserve changes help this pilot group. The bad idea wasn’t even implemented well.

Im saying you are correct in that the reps wanted the pilot group to have a vote even though not all of them were for the TA.

RJ sold it to the pilot group. The only person from SAPA that we actually heard from was RJ. And he was all for it! I woukld like our reps to be able to give their point of view when voting for something and not just the presidents point of view.

Yes, I'd say most folks perceived it as an extreme hard sell by SAPA. Not all reps were in for it or vocal about it but RJ and AA were super big proponents.

The real tragedy though that people believe that QoL could be handled outside a pay vote. Yes, it is a lot more complicated but thinking to get any meaningful improvements - stuff that actually cost money rather than some cosmetics - would come out side of a pay vote is completely delusional.

Oh, and what about the growth? The rumors that conveniently popped up about the pay vote called for all this growth and people were secretly hoping for DFW, PHX and maybe something more west... well, not quite.
