Just thought I would bump this up again. With all the talk of the voting record for the reps that sent the pay package out to vote, it seemed relevant.

This information used to be published. Why isn't it anymore and what changed? Anyone with inside SAPA info care to comment?

Sorry for the necropost, but I just found it interesting that exactly a year ago these conversations were taking place and they are taking place again.

People getting bypassed for transitions (on the CRJ now instead of the Bro), people getting crappy PBS awards and adding flying hours that we don't have the staff for. And we have the same result of the EB/SAPA not doing anything about any of it.

What is the definition of insanity again??

The best part about this thread is where some said that SGU realizes they are short staffed and are hiring more pilots and how things would get better!! I guess nobody ever put a specific time frame on when it would improve. Do we just need another 12 months?

We need a union contract with explicit language protecting us for any of this to stop. I remember that email about the extra delta flying starting in December and wondering... With what pilots? We'll never catch up until some of the CRJs actually leave, but nothing ever does. Off contract, then new paint and a new home. There are worse things to complain about for sure but has management ever heard of burn out? If it wasn't just the CRJ I'd be more willing to accept it but one look at the 175 and you know it's intentional and doesn't have to be like this.

Simple,
Any one can file a single carrier petition, the last ALPA drives were close. The very issues that the NMB stated were not present for the TSA/Gojet petition are present for an ASA/Expressjet-SKYW Single Carrier petition success.
Find a labor lawyer, $500.00 bucks later, file with the NMB and sit back and watch the fireworks over the southwest/four corners region erupt. The ensuing representation vote would bring/keep ALPA on property, and if nothing else happened, no changes to the current PWA would be allowed, until a contract was negotiated. EFB notification would be on hold until it could be negotiated as well as all the others slippery slope items RJ promised to deliver for a cushy management position after his presidency.

If 500 bucks is all you need for ALPA to come to Skywest consider it done. I'll pay on behalf of the entire group to be represented.

Mm what does comair, envoy, express jet etc etc have in common? Oh it's alpa not doing squat when **** hit the fan, they are either gone or down sizing. Alpa only cares for mainline, that's it whilst aligning themselves with management and blowing dues on booze.

If you want mainline QOL (and they complain a lot to) then get on the old airlineapps. No Union has any teeth at the regional level, all that you can do is file a grievance and maybe someday they will get back to you but probably won't

Weak pilots=weak Union.
The old "if you don't like it leave" noise.
If you don't think that a full 75% of the SKYW pilots aren't trying to leave, guess again. How many pilots can leave before UAL/DAL can cancel the contracts due to non completion, al la Freedom Air? If you are a senior CA and not SLC based ask yourself, how you would like to be a F/O in SLC or furloughed and hoping to get on at Compass?

Haven't had a hard time recruiting yet, and the republic BK has many people looking for a place to go. Our completion is looking pretty great, were hiring as many people as we can get which is between 70-100 a month, more aircraft coming, very few leaving.

True statement. Unfortunately, this is regionals we're talking about and there's a always a big cloud behind every silver lining...

XJT is most likely on the fast track to extinction, because SGU would rather not deal with the union work rules (I things like trip-touching really sticks in the craw).

You can't win the regional game, you just get to pick your poison to a degree. "The only way to win is not to play..."
