Agreed. They belong to you guys. You stood strong for the profession. You deserve them.

So if SKY INC. decided to pull the same thing with Expressjet, would you still feel the same way towards someone else being awarded the flying at the cost of Expressjet pilots? Just a thought….

That's going to change soon. I've personally met at least 10 captains just recently who have class dates. It seems like the United class dates are backed up way out into the late summer and early fall right now. I've met a few CAs with Delta and Alaska class dates too.

I personally know FOs that have gone to JetBlue as well as 1 to Delta. He was prior military though, F15 guy. Heard that there have been some to go to Spirit as well, but not too sure beyond that.

Remember we were hiring a lot of furloughed guys from Cargo operators and Comair, plus other guys with turbine PIC time that could upgrade last summer. Most of them are moving up to mainline carriers, LCCs, or going to the desert. Nobody I've heard of is making any kind of lateral move.

If TSA gets the 170s, I think it would be down the road, and we would get 10-30 145s first depending on what on the company thinks we can handle. Based on what is happening in the training department it looks like a significant number of aircraft. Then the 170s would be replacement aircraft for the 145s. Or Compass could get them and they decide to wind down TSA as the pilots are moved to Compass. The TSA 145s could be placed on the Compass certificate in a fenced operation which makes it easier and cheaper to move the pilots. Fenced operation is easier to manage than a full blown integration, and pilots would only require a transition rather than full blown initial training in a separate certificate operation. Compass could always get them as growth aircraft as well with TSA getting a bunch of 145s too.

Like I said, going to be an interesting few weeks. Stay tuned.

No they do not deserve them for standing strong. This is such a black and white issue its hard to believe that such things can be said.

Pilots made a business decision not to accept lower pay. Management made a business decision to place the airplanes somewhere else if they can which remains to be seen.

There are consequences. Pilots in the short term may not get to fly new jets and they may go elsewhere for other pilots to fly. But the long term benefits are where the pilots decision pays off, and hopefully for the entire industry.

I don't care if we fly Cessna 208s I want my dam iPad I was promised a year ago. Seriously, 3 weeks at this company is 3 decades.
