That's called SJS. Maybe that kind of person should apply someplace that flies shiny 170s for subpar pay if it's that important to them. When I was hired I cared more about the pay and domiciles than what I was flying. I'll gladly upgrade to the bro if I have the ability to move to base just like I gladly accepted it as a new hire.

If the two planes pay the same (bro likely pays more) and on one you sit reserve for 3 years and on the other you hold a line in a month I have no idea why so many people feel like they must only fly the jet.

Why don't you tell us about all of your experience flying the EMB-120. Or the many times you've actually been on one. Let me guess, you haven't even been on one. Only seen pictures of them.

The funny part is the guys that keep showing up for class will make more than you in month 13 than you do at year 6/7 on the Endeavor payscale.

Who's laughing now? dip****

Go with the type that gives you the most desirable base for living/commuting. Pay is on par for both now, so its an easier choice than before.

Yeah, sure am glad they closed MRY and SAN so the SLC crews could do nice overnights in our bases instead...

In any case, it doesn't matter what letters you use to call your union, they will still be made up of the same pilots regardless. That's why it doesn't matter to me if we go with SAPA. It'll be the same thing because it's the same pilots.

This is a good point. Im not aware of how much influence National has on forming the bylaws. The rules which govern the MEC are much more important than the name.

My opinion is for most guys sending one dollar up the chain to national alpa would be a non starter. Every dollar would have to be spent advocating for SWInc pilots and no other group.
All the reps at all the MECs make up the Board of Directors. These are the only people who can add and amend by-laws.

At the MEC level, any pilot can propose any resolution at their local council meeting. If it is passed, it gets taken up at the MEC meeting where the reps decide what happens with it.

For the regional MECs, they get more money back from national than their members pay. But I understand what you are saying though. We would lose financially but if that is better for the pilots in the long term, I'm all for it.
