Rumor: SkyWest interested in Compass?
#14
I haven't heard this rumor before but it's been said publicly before that SkyWest believes there will be consolidation and two or three super-regionals and a few niche players in the near? future.
Money is still cheap and most of the other competition doesn't have much in the bank. The real question is how much resistance would DL/UA/AA put up to block SkyWest from gaining most of their feed.

This would not go well for Compass folk. I do believe if we are sold again the flow is instantly terminated. The other good rumor floating around is that new hires will be going to Paris for a month for sim training. Compass is having trouble locking down sim time for all the events created from the flow.

Kinda off topic question about Compass.
One of the jump pilots I work with had heard from someone working at Compass that they keep pilots on first year pay longer that one calendar year by manipulating language to suggest that the "year one" clock doesn't start until the first month you hold a line. Sounds far fetched; anything resembling accuracy?

4-months to complete IOE? Geezus, is that like 150 hours of OE?

You report on your hire date for paperwork, then are sent home for a month. Upon return it is a week of INDOC, 2 weeks of Systems and FTDs, then 10-14 days of sims. I started at the end of December and finished IOE mid March.
