The press release says Inc. ordered the 90s, which don't fit into any legacy's MTOW scope.

Add in the crj's it'll be tough for them in the next few years. Left with only lifers the cost of doing business will increase and possibly turn into Comair type situation. Time will tell but I think the regionals will look completely different and much smaller in a few years.

Why couldn't this be a reverse of current rj ownership/operators. IE: Delta purchases rjs operated by various dci's. This time skypest holds the debt on their books but a mainline operates them.

They can't because of labor law scope. In other words if Skywest owns them, Skywest pilots fly them.

My guess is that the order can be contractually downshifted to 70 seats, or whatever fits the scope in question.

Why order 90's? Publicity stunt? It would be exceedingly dangerous to buy a bunch of airplanes that exceed all of your potential customer's scope unless you've already decided to go independent and operate regional feed on a code-share vice capacity purchase basis. Not saying it can't happen in the case of SKW, but that's a big step.

Are the skypest pilots unionized? Do they have a contract with the parent company that would not allow this type of scenario? Do you think any mainline will allow these to be outsourced? I know at Delduh we have weight limits that would not. Anyone know the weight/seat limits at AA or uals ta?

AA 76 seats 86,000. UA 76 seats.. No weight...
But if you buy 4.5 billion in aircraft, you can change the weight. Just like SkyWest did on the Delta 700's for the LGB restriction
