Better from a pilot group standpoint. Given the context of our profession being held to a higher standard and the recent unfortunate happenings, I would say its better if this wasnt a line pilot.

The greater question is ....why. What is the cause of these episodes? Stress? None the less, another black eye in the face of aviation.

How does a pilot "try" to steal a plane? Could he have intentionally ran it into a ditch?

I like how the article says "Records show that Hedglin was a licensed pilot, certified as a transport pilot and also certified to land multi-engine aircraft."


Obviously he wasn't certified for takeoff...
