It's probably worth attending if you have your sights set on SKW, and have a plan or intentions to get the twin time you need.

They will tell you to call when you get the multi-time, but the fact that you made the effort to show up will reflect in your favor. You could just wait until you have the time, but they may not be running job fairs when you get there.

With several (if not tens) thousand resumes on file, going to the job fair is a primary way to get noticed by the recruiters. If you're short on minimums, go get those minimums before they become even higher.

Get accepted at UVU and take out a max student loan to get the flight time if you have to; summer session is about to start. Unless you're flight instructing at a school with several multis and several students that need you in those multis, or a cargo pilot in a multi, it's near impossible to increase the multi time and get hired before the mins shoot up. You could have the time in a couple of weeks if you pay for it. (P.S. don't blow time away by flying only cross-countries and snoozing, go out there and do approach after approach after approach. The controllers will catch on rather quickly and will serve to increase the learning from such an experience. The sim interview will be even easier having done so.)

Good luck!

but I was like 10 hours shy on the instrument time and didn't get a call until I got it
When that Hobbs meter clicked that additional 10 hours you needed, I can only imagine the deep lessons, hire-inducing wisdom, "ah-ha!" moments and mind blowing clarity you gained. Whoo- that was close.

Don't know about that.... I applied and the next day was called by C.E. along with 15 other guys from EWR. Seems like these next few weeks OO is interviewing all soon to be Furloughed guys from 9L.

The last 4 or 5 CRJ classes have been (in reverse order) SLC, MSP, and IAH. Guys hired in the last few months are already in FAT and COS too. Basically anything but SEA, PDX, and LAX are at least on the table in somewhat short fashion. Reserve time depends on the base. Perhaps only months in MSP to years in SLC.

Bro guys seem to be more scattered on the bases, though FAT it appears is still junior. I have no idea about reserve on that side of the house but they're still hiring consistently into that plane as there are plenty of guys coming off seatlock in the near future.

Thanks

Do you bid for equipment during first day of ground school, or they tell you in the interview or job offer call?

How hard would be to get IAH or ATL?
Seat locks? How do they work?
Is the CRJ divided into 2/7/900 or you fly them all?

Job offer call/letter.

Dunno.

1 year seat lock then you can transition.

Fly them all.

so, will it be more like an interview or just a place to meet the recruiters, hand out the resume and collect business cards?
