Not if the aircraft are returned to Bombardier first.

Don't these 900's belong to Delta, not Pinnicolaba?

Actually it has happened before. It depends on the terms of the sale. If another company purchases the aircraft from Pinnacle then the pilots go with them, no doubt. But if a third party is involved, then it depends on the terms of the sale and how it is structured.

Buy what? some 50 seaters and a few saabs? If 9L goes belly up, the Q's are returned to Bombardier. And Bombardier doesn't need pilots last time I checked.

Yep.....but with all the paycheck issues and reports of being forced to pay cash for parts it could indicate the company is in far more financial distress than previously thought. If all these are true then 9E could be in jeopardy as well...

What's the point in DL/UA giving Skywest 9E flying? Skywest does not fly at a loss, and they do not have lower costs than 9E. The training ramp-up would probably cost cancellations until enough new CA's could be trained.

The only reason Skywest has been winning flying lately is because they have a great balance sheet and can finance their own airplanes, versus other regional who have to get mainline to do it. It's not because they are a lower cost operation.

Why in the world would Skywest step in and save 9E when this sort of collapse is exactly what helps Skywest reduce the pressure to loose 50 seaters? If Skywest learned anything from the Expressjet merger, it's that it is probably easier to bid on the pieces than incorporate an f'd up pilot group. No offense.
