One class recently didn't follow the SSN "rule." Some were from SKYW wholly owneds and got to the top of the list, then those from other SKYW departments, then it went by date of interview success. Maybe it was an experiment for that class?

Yeah, that's the one thing I hate. SSN, really? Most other airlines used Date of Birth. But I guess I'll have to live with my place in the pack. My SSN starts with a 8

They mentioned something like this to our interview class. Seems fair to get a bump if you already worked for SKYW (as fair as random SSN last four is!)

What is fairer than last 4 SSN? That's completely random. They only drawback (or benefit) is that you're stuck in your relative position for life, every time you start a new job.
The date of birth order opens you up to liability in many states because it amounts to reverse age discrimination.

That's an interesting point that I never gave any consideration to.
