Though I will agree with you on that it's meaningless -- Much like upgrade at a regional.
Except upgrading at a regional means better pay and experience that helps you move on from said regional. Neither of which I'd call meaningless.

The funny thing is in their quest to insure the flying gets covered, their new hire replacement pilots read about this stuff and stay away, as a result.
I'm gonna eat crow and agree with you. I just spoke to Sapa about this because I wanted to hear it from the horses mouth and not on this board. But it's exactly as others are saying it's gonna be. We are gonna pay for EFBs and they will notify us via them. Only caveat is we will not be required to have them on.

Your rhetoric on this board of trying to get people to not come here is self serving and not helpful. Most people, fortunately, do not read it

Just for clarification, the SAPA rep said that they can notify us on the EFB, but we are not required to have them on? So as long as we can turn them off really quick when we land, this is a good thing for the pilots?

It does nothing but good for me to have others come here. Helps get people behind me and increases my chances at upgrade. I wouldn't tell people not to come here, but SW needs to understand they are not the top choice anymore. Granted, choosing a regional is like choosing an STD. They all suck but what can you live with??
I have seen what reflows look like when CS gets desperate, and they are going to be desperate this summer. Just remember when JP is selling you how good this is, that he hasn't flown the line and had to deal with CS games for a long time now. Pay attention to those here that used to be SAPA and are against it. I bet our EB wishes they could delete posts from this site like they do on our boards.

You mistake my belief that getting through the regional sinkhole as fast as possible as self serving. As a senior guy what exactly do I have to gain by not drinking/proffering the Kool-Aid? I read the mostly un-realistic tripe posted here about the fast upgrade, super cool domiciles and wicked opportunity to get some quality underwing time and am amused and try to provide a balance to the hyperbole. Your caveat is good only as long as it takes Chris Brown to type "EFB on at every engine shut down" or something like that. Ultimately you and every F/O stand to gain, no, need back fill behind you to float your eventual upgrade. By your logic, I should be cheering every potential F/O to come to SKYW and backfill behind me to insure me having a freshly minted F/O to staff the right seat, thus insuring my continued paycheck.

SAPA is the horse's mouth? Some folks say their leadership is in the company's pocket and I'm not sure what to think at this point.

But if we can be notified by EFB, then they will doubtless issue a memo requiring that they be synched to the grid during each turn. The technical details are just that, mere details. The only way to be safe from the EFB is to have policy language that it's not a notification tool.

I believe YOU are part of the problem on these forums and if you act the same way you type, you are ALSO part of the problem in this industry. Same applies to you PerpetualFlyer.

Respect peoples points of views and questions -- You don't know where they came from or especially who they are.

So. Chill. It's just a forum ... a place where the koolaid is puked, rumors are better than a soap opera, and where people once in a while is given a righteous answer.

You're right, their route map doesn't differentiate the 175 from Crj. But, there are plenty of press releases that state the routes flown. Don't come on a forum and make it seem like you're asking for a route map to try to choose which Ac you want. If you have a specific question, which apparently you do, ask it. Making it seem like a route map is important in your decision on which Ac to pick makes you seem like a spiked hear backpack wearing pink that would work for free because the airplane is so shiny

My opinion is this take months and months to figure it out. E7 is ERJ175.

I completely agree. And I spoke with RJ about that but as I understand it sapas position is essentially "the company is going to get what they want one way or another and we might as well try and get something for it."

At first this seems ludicrous but at the end of the day, this is where the pro Union guys like Nevets et al are right...Sapa has no leverage. The company can do pretty much as they please. And while there may be some (or a lot) of ball twisting done by the company with Sapa, this is something I actually believe when I hear them say "what can we do"
