Besides not having to be on Reserve I saw no gains in QOL from bidding 80% to 60% imo. Supposedly there is new pairing building software that has made pairing efficiency better, how much I have no clue, but it's not like life gets significantly better after moving up even 30-40% in base. Other than being off reserve there's not much of a change unless this new software has worked miracles. Just my .02
This is true; with the funky pairings, coverage dates, and pbs software it seems like mostly luck on how your schedule turns out. You get whatever PBS needed to fulfill coverage dates and build lines for everyone below you.

Movement is swift at SkyWest but people claiming 50+ a month are embellishing. I've had one month over 50 spots in the last two years and mostly months in the 20's and 30's. It has picked up to 40 per month recently which if keeps up or increases will be great for everyone.

We're on our way to relieve the reserves.

What makes you think it will be small?

I would think LAX would be the next. Flying starts there next month.

Well, I hope someone gets a bump in QOL.

As for 175 bases...

ORD
SFO
PDX -- opening very soon (newhires can forget it, it appears to now be our most senior base depending on how you run the numbers)
SEA -- opening very soon (same comment as PDX)

DEN -- there's been talk of the 175 going there, but no announcements as of yet.
I donno what you're talking about...3 new hires got SEA on the 175.

I'm toward the top of the Feb class with 60 new hires and the March is showing about 60 CRJs and 10 ERJs. I just started tracking how many spots I've moved up but there's 130 behind me at this point. I'm just looking to get a line fast and more people lower than me means more people on reserve instead of me.

I'm a 26 Jan hire and when I first got a seniority number I was at 3409. As of this morning, I'm sitting at 3325. That's 84 spots in only 43 days, or just under 2/day.
