Thats the problem, common sense is not very big in this world and I already hear new hire FO's bragging how they will be logging PIC time before me because they are getting the type rating. I just look at them shake my head and say 'Well good for you"!!

If you don't sign for the jet, you don't log Pilot In "COMMAND" time. Seems like a pretty simple rule of thumb.
