IAH is horrible. No one senior should ever transfer there. Having to only do flying the CR7 and sometimes the CR9 gets so old. Plus the overnights around the system are just horrible. Don't transfer to IAH. If you are junior it's a different story.

On another note, can someone give me an idea of the healthcare costs for a family with one kid?
Thanks all!

I personally think the better question is why we had a 1/19, 2/2 and 2/18 upgrade classes that were awarded on the DVR but were not on the update. Does that mean these upgrade classes have been cancelled or pushed back? Or is this just the typical typo that we have come to expect from any communication??

hey all,
I have an interview coming up in Feb but was under the impression that SFO would not be an option for a new joiner for at least a year or more.
But now they are advertising for new hires to be based in SFO.
How does that work?

They'll announce anything to get people through the door.
That being said, there are new hires in SFO.

The most senior trips at ORD are the long 700 locals. NAS, SLC, MTY, BZN, FCA, YYC turns. I can't even touch those at 45%. Good standups also go pretty senior. Six leg locals, min credit locals and bad standups go extremely junior. The majority of the trips in ORD are 4 days so how senior a 4 day goes just depends on how good it is. High credit 700/900 4 days are going to go a lot more senior than low credit 200 4 days, etc.
My personal favorite overnights out of ORD: TVC, PHX, SBA, MEM, AUS, SAT, YHZ, MSP, STC. CMX is nice in the summer but unfortunately I usually end up there in the winter.
I bid about 45% and I can only hold 700 and 900 trips if I want to fly on weekends. I can't hold 700 locals at all and I can't hold 700/900 4 days with weekends off. If I want weekends off I have to bid the 200. If I don't mind working weekends I can hold all 700/900. It will probably take you until under 60% before you're able to hold 700/900 trips on weekends, and it will take you until under 40% to hold all 700 and 900 on week days. If you're trying to bid locals you'll be under 30% before you can touch 700 locals.

We had a standup on the Brasilia SFO-LMT that was a 10pm departure, 1.5 hour flight, then a 4:30am show time in the morning that only paid 4:50 credit. 3 hours block for 4:50 credit. If everything went absolutely perfect you'd still get less than 4 hours of sleep at the hotel due to the super late arrival and 4:30am show time.
Since it was SFO the flight was delayed at least 50% of the time so you could expect to fly 3 hours, get less than 4 hours of sleep, and only get paid 4:50 for it. That's an example of a bad standup.
