Ahh, my bad. As previously posted I have enjoyed working with everyone so far here, but I have flown with people in the past that made life more difficult than need be because of attitude. And I have been listening in on those Monday conference calls because as you stated being paid is kind of important, we are on the same team .... But my point was If one hates their position/company enough to tell others to keep away when the majority are greatful for their position/company shouldn't the minority consider making personal changes to make themselves happy instead of making those around them miserable?

While I agree that if you're not happy with work you should look for something else it's a lot easier said than done. I'm pretty nervous about what I'm going to do for pay when I time out.

I would very much like to know the result of that. Seems to me that a guaranteed min is a guaranteed min. Timing out due to restrictive regs or to working extra shifts definitely should not affect that, in my humble opinion and assuming that my understanding of the issue is correct.

I have been at SkyWest well over 15 years.
When I see 40 year and 30 year employees getting terminated, I get ****ed. I've seen lots of changes here, this isn't what it used to be , and really, it shouldn't be. But it doesn't need to cut the core of this institution, which is what is happening. I don't recognize this place anymore. If I were in a position to choose I'd take someplace with a better upgrade schedule.
My point is this isn't the SkyWest of yesterday, and people should know.........

The last upgrade to be awarded was a October 2007 hire. There was no hiring between December 2007 and September 2010. But there are still quite few end of 2007 hires to get through before the upgrades skip to the 2010 hires. Plus the more senior FO's that are holding out to be lineholders. And then a few Bro captains that have to transition to the jet as well. At the current rate of upgrades, I'd be willing to bet a few 2010 hires could upgrade mid to late 2015.

Hey how about you quit, climb under a rock and make yourself disappear. Let me move up the list.
TO THOSE LOOKING AT SKYWEST:
So far I really like SkyWest, after 2.5 months on reserve I am holding a line, I live where I want, I work with a lot of fun and very knowledgeable people and I look forward to my future with SkyWest and beyond. We are expanding, and we may not keep getting pay increases because of way too many regionals signing concessionary contracts, but I believe we will stay towards the top of the regional list to work at.

Funny thing is that line is become less and less defined and line holders are getting bent over on a regular basis. With the latest being that pilots are awarded so much flying with our ****ty PBS system, that they are timing out and have the possibility of not getting paid without using vacation time.
I wish I had worked for the SkyWest of old. As of right now, they are just another regional. Except they are just another regional that does not have the legal backing of a contract, no flow through to a major and currently an 8 year upgrade. I would recommend someone to go anywhere else as well.

24 for October class, 24 for November, 22 for December and 52 for January.
Most junior Capt from last award is a 10/22/2007 hire. But there are about 380 FO's above that number that may be holding off to avoid reserve or base preference. Plus over 100 EMB Captains that will need to transition.
So there is a strong possibility that even with 50 upgrades per month, we could be another year just getting through the 2007 hires and Bro transitions.
