Every week? That's 5000+ in three years. I wonder what other majors projections are looking like.

SkyWest doesn't just want good pilots, it wants good people. Good luck!

[QUOTE=Check Complete;1761575]Nope, I know of 2 guys that got on with UAL, one about 10 months ago and one leaving this week. Neither had any TPIC but they both busted their ass to get the interview and are like able types. Actually I've heard having a bunch of TPIC can be a killer right now and those with a bunch are being advised to reduce the number submitted on their resume?

You knowing 2 FOs who have been hired by UA hardly disproves my point. I also know 2 and we're probably talking about the same two people. I probably know over 50 captaons who have gone to the majors recently. PIC may not be required but the odds certainly aren't in your favor without it. I think it's false to tell people they don't need it.

Because nothing says good person like being able to draw a turbine engine.

I would argue that any 1500 hour pilot who hopes to fly pax in 121 service should have his head examined if he CAN'T draw a rudimentary turbine engine.

Good people tend to come prepared for things like job interviews.

They want people who are trainable and want to be there. I interviewed 4 years ago and the "draw the turbine engine" thing was in the gouge back then. If people interviewing are unable to read a gouge and study the material then they clearly don't care enough about the job interview. It's not like they're giving people ridiculous questions at random. They're seeing if people studied for the interview or not using known questions.

If I interviewed someone who thought they were too good for my questions that you can easily find the answer to online I wouldn't hire them either. I'm glad we don't hire people who don't study.

There are some big musicians who are known to make ridiculous requests at shows like "no brown M&Ms in the candy tray." That way they know if their event staff is actually paying attention to detail or is just going through the motions. Some of the skywest interview questions may be a little weird, but they do a good job of weeding out the people who think they're just going to skate by without doing any work.
