CCB, you do make a lot of good points and I fear that too many guys don't crunch the numbers to see just how bad the pay is (at least for quite some time). While I haven't had the pleasure of receiving a 1st year FO paycheck yet, I've crunched the numbers. I'm lucky in the fact that I have a guard job to help me pay the bills. I know a lot of you guys probably hate guys like me for that...sorry. I've also spent enough time on the road to know that it truly does suck sometimes. However, I always tend to look at the bright side. I consider some of the flying I've done to be REAL flying, but I seldom make it through a Cuban 8 without spilling my coffee and tracer rounds can be quite irritating. I know the airlines have a whole new ball of suck that I haven't experienced yet and I appreciate CCB shedding light on these areas.

Yes, because us civilians are totally incapable of making a spreadsheet.
I knew exactly what I was getting into, as did pretty much the 19 others in my new hire class a few years ago. I had saved up money, and had no debt. Others in my class did the same, or had other income streams.
I'm sure you didn't mean it, but your post makes you sound like a tool. I hope you lose the "Tracer Rounds" attitude, as most here don't want to hear about it.

Ok, on occasion you get it right I'll give you that.
How do you type while your serving coffee?
Know what makes you sound like a tool, every time you tickle your keyboard. You made your spreadsheet based upon a 2 year upgrade, but when that upgrade devolves into 8 years and upgrading to reserve in a domicile you want nothing to do with, you will spend every leg making the poor Captain's ears bleed with your nonstop sniveling. Which is only slightly worst than the kool-aid based drivel which preceded the sniveling. "Tracer rounds" or whatever, he has earned the right to talk about them whenever he likes, its ok that you didn't have the right stuff to do the difficult job, that is your own personal shortcoming. He signed on the bottom line, he defended your right to say whatever you want. Some day you will realize, exactly who/what you are WRXpilot.

Not if you aren't giving any of your paycheck in order for them to pay us. I can't believe you don't see the difference. In contrast, I do give out of my paycheck to help you.

Oh, I greatly appreciate our military folks. But nobody wants to have that guy in class that says "Well, back at Airline X/the guard/flight school/engineering cubicle, we did it this way. I can promise you, it annoys the crap out of everyone.
