In the SLC system I would say over 90% of captains plan on staying

You must be a very senior SLC FO or not be based in SLC at all to be that wrong (I really mean no offense but i know you are wrong). I am an SLC based RJ CA planning on leaving and while more in SLC plan to stay than at other large domiciles the # is nowhere close to 90+%. I would put the number at closer to 75%. And it is shrinking all the time. Four years ago when SLC was growing you might have been closer at 90% but many now realize the bottom half of the SLC CA list will be as stagnant for the next 20 years as mainline lists have been for the last ten. Many people in the bottom half would rather move on than be working weekends and holidays for the next twenty years waiting for the forty-somethings in the top half to retire.

Hello guys,
How long would it take to hold a line in (KIAH)
Can someone elaborate a bit more on line structures?
I live in Dallas, just wanted to get an idea if is a commutable deal or not.
Thank you!

I was about 90% committed to being a lifer here until 2 years ago, now I watch and listen and I'm pretty sure I will leave when the time is right. SkyWest is a good place to be, but the gap between the best regionals and the worse is significantly smaller now than when I joined this industry 6+ years ago.
PS. The current RJ ground school class took their system test on Thursday. Later that evening their domicile awards came out. Everyone was awarded Minneapolis.

I would disagree. Many of the Captains that I flew with when I was a new hire were in the 6-10 year mark. Now, 6 years later when I talk to them, most are looking to leave when the "big suck" comes. Most of my peers are looking to leave as well. Perhaps the majority of the 15+ (probably closer to 20+) Captains want to stay but anyone that I talk to with extended reserve time under their belt here seem to want to move on and many of the line holders that have moved back to sucky 4 day weekend trips (with lowering pay values) or worse back to reserve after 10+ years here are tired. A common theme is "If this is the best my seniority will allow me at SkyWest after XX years, then I may as well leave for a major. My schedule may be about the same, but ultimately I will be paid better for the same crap".

SkyWest express (EMB) class info: 8 upgrades 12 new hires per class through May. 20 new hires per month during summer. 10 and 10 thereafter for the rest of the year. No idea on the SkyWest mainline side of the house.

I still don't understand why they're hiring so much. I'm not complaining, it's been fantastic. I just wonder what they're planning on...
