Along the lines of CCM's great post, one of the better stories I came across happened to a buddy of mine. Came home one day freaking out that he had something.
I asked what was up, he said "I didn't have a rubber so I backdoored her."
"You realize that's the best hole to catch a disease out of right?"
"Yeah. But aside from getting AIDS, a STD is better than knocking a FA up."
I died laughing, but he made a good point.

A few years back, we were flying along at 390, I was in rare form, after a reflow cornholing, I was streaming a nonstop diatribe that covered everything I considered jacked up in the industry/country from Anita's physiological impossibilities, to Obamas inability to whoop a few cavemen, I stopped for a breath and looked at the F/O and he looked at me, then we both looked at RTU 1 and saw the damming transmit symbol illuminated. I had just spent the previous 5 minutes informing the entire airline industry my position on life in the airline business. I touched the switch and the radios came back to life, ATC simply stated "I guess we all know how you feel, now". There were lots of f-bombs, and anatomical impossibilities described. Oh well better than keeping it bottled up, eh?

Looked back 11 pages and got lots of good info on F/As, but still wondering what things look like for a new hire. I've been given the opportunity to interview at several places, and will take them all for the experience, but should multiple offers come up, I'd like to be prepared. Where are new hires going and on what equipment? How long is reserve for a new hire? I'm in the Sacramento area, so I'd like to stay around here, so a Chicago base doesn't sound so great.

I've heard rumors that Houston is fairly junior right now? Anyone know? I'll be interviewing in a few weeks and am just wondering what might be offered....if anything is offered that is.
