That's the rumor, and it's plausible since they've stopped training, are allowing people to transfer out early, and keep terminating destinations. My guess 9-15 months, maybe sooner (like after the holidays).

Get your hands on that Matrix sign up sheet fast, I remember that was the one thing that didn't really go in seniority order.
I was in the July class and the eval is no longer given.

We asked Tracy and Shane about it during appreciation week in the crew room and they more or less confirmed that they're on a 2 year plan to get rid of them and mentioned it could be accelerated if needed. I'd still call it a rumor but it's a rumor that was confirmed by them.

When the 120s are phased out, will the PSP base be phased out also? If not, will it still be considered a new hire base or will that all change? That is if it IS even a newhire base, still.

Thanks

Our "commuter policy" is actually the best policy that we don't have. Basically, just call in honest. If you can't make it, you can't make it. No limit on how often or anything like that. No minimum number of flight or seats or anything either. Now obviously if you're saying you can't make it every week for a month your chief might call and ask what's up. But really, that's the one thing you hardly ever hear any complaints about here.

There is no such thing as a new hire base, only junior bases, which could change month to month. And PSP is still an RJ base, and a maintenance base.

This right here. This is why no one ever gets in trouble for calling in sick 25 times (yes 25) either. Very few people abuse the system so they keep it the way it is. Sick? crew support will tell you to get better. Couldn't make your commute? they will say sorry to hear, and ask if you want to catch up with your trip in domicile on day 2 or stay home (and lose pay) your choice. I flow with one guy who called in 31 times (in one year) and never heard a thing about it. Now to me, this is stealing from the company. But because the percentage of people abusing the system is so low (and because they want to keep the union out) we keep the status quo.
