I'm curious about these job seminars that SKW puts on. The one I'm looking at states that they will be hiring and to just bring Log Books and resume'. Do they actually do hiring for a class or is it sort of a pre-hire situation where they choose whether to bring you in for the full interview. has anyone been hired on at one of these seminars? Also, do you need perhaps to be invited? Compared to an invitation to SLC, it seems like not much is required. Just an observation on my part. Thanks much in advance for any info/experiences.

I was hired at one of those 'job fairs', they actually did a full interview for those who were willing and ready. If I recall correctly, I had my resume along but no logbooks. It's a great way to get some face time and maybe even get a jump on a sooner class date. Good luck.
And to the Google engineer guy, welcome on board! We need more like you. Your attitude will be contagious and if I ever get a chance to fly with you I look forward to many stories about the food at Google HDQ. Wow. Im hungry.

As far as food stories...here's a pic I just snapped of today's morning donut bar. They even have organic, vegan donuts (which, amazingly, taste pretty darn good.)

Thank you But I'm not an engineer. You don't want me programming any computers, except maybe for an FMS I'm actually a creative director (which is a fancy name for an advertising copywriter with lots of experience.) My agency is embedded within Google, and we work on multiple creative design projects.

Grasshopper,
You have gone from the apex to the sub-whatever position that is humanly possible career wise. You will quickly be happy to eat the little bags of UAL squirrel mix and marvel at a quick 13 hour duty day, broken up by a sweet 4 hour airport appreciation break, with no break room, sitting in the terminal is awesome! Sorry troop, you have entered the suck, Skyw, just happens to be the "nice" guard at the concentration camp.
