The orders were contingent on them having someone to fly them for... so its very unlikely we will see most of those on property. When the E2/MRJ gets closer to EIS then you will probably see some more flying shift back to SkyWest as it replaces the older E175 and 700s/900s flying.

Maybe all those orders will simply replace the 50 seaters ExpressJet and SkyWest have for no real net gain in flying. The two airlines have a combined 486 50-seat jets. To maintain the same capacity on larger CRJ's/ERJ's/MRJ's, you'd need about 320 76-seat aircraft. No surprise then that SkyWest has ~300 orders (plus a whole bunch of options).

Actually, it's the calm before the storm right now. There will be some very big announcements, but the company needs to get ExpressJet back to profitability first. If what the new VPFO said yesterday is any indication, the OO side is sitting pretty. There are a lot of behind the scenes work being done to have everything in place.

Sure wish I could tell you, but then I'd be breaking a few company policies. However, I can point you toward an announcement on SkyWestOnline about Greg Atkin that should give a fairly good idea as to the direction things are heading.
Also, MT is moving all of his people into the same room as Flight Ops to ultimately make room for MX Records. With the amount of aircraft currently in operation plus future aircraft on order, MX Records is running out of room.
Also, the new MX facility in Boise is about a 25-year lease. Of course, leases can be broken, but the company would owe the remainder of a $20M bond should they ever break their lease. I think that's a pretty huge commitment that the company wouldn't be making if they didn't have the guaranteed need for it well into the future.

Rumor has it that KB was cleaning out his office before 8am Thursday and the transition was to TG was done with little notice?

Atkin began his airport career at US Airways, initially as a Senior Analyst, quantifying profitability measures, while also in charge of planning for the deployment of US Airways Boeing 757 and Embraer ERJ190 aircraft. Later as Manager, he worked closely with the scheduling department to implement recommended route changes and adjustments. He also managed the development and implementation of the "PHX Flex" project for delivering revenue and profit strategies for the company. Also, he implemented new pricing strategies while manager of domestic pricing.
