Yes, SFO/STL could wind up being the longest "regional" route of all-time at 1,504NM

They need to put some extra belly tanks in those 175s and start doing SFO-JFK. Or SFO-LHR?

SLC's about the same distance as Boise (approx 530 nm vs 440 nm)...seems fine for an EMB-175. An EMB-120, not so much

The distance isn't the issue. SFO-SLC is a flight between two major hubs and is usually oversold. There should be bigger planes on that route than RJs. At least BOI is an actual outstation.

Two hubs for two completely different airlines....

At least this will hopefully take one of the 200's off the route. United doesn't like competition thus they send RJ's into Delta hubs. Look at ATL/MSP/DTW from United hubs. It's all RJ.

And all usually oversold. Getting to ATL on United is a nightmare. They shouldn't be RJ routes. That was my point.
