You must have me confused. I never said west coast flying was easier. You must be thinking of another post by someone else.
Also, I wouldn't call posting that 50% of Compass flights on the west coast routes bragging.
If you want to see an example of bragging, talk to the poster that keeps saying SKW metrics beats everyone else and keeps posting it to keep proving the same point. That's bragging.

It's ok if another DCI carrier starts sharing the Western US routes Delta flies. Get used to it. It's happening and stop getting so defensive.

There's a reason Delta puts the Ejet on the shuttle.

And I have no idea why the numbers are so bad for Compass. I never said they were great. I just said the metrics change monthly. SKW happened to have a great month. Good job guys! Now you know Delta loves you!

If you've ever flown hourly flights between LAX-SFO then you may understand why metrics numbers can be low. There are a thousand things that can go wrong, mostly weather in SFO and traffic jams in LAX. Of the 50% departures in the Western US, the majority of those are the shuttle between LAX-SFO. Growing pains happen when an airline opens up a new market as well.
Oh trust me, we had those routes for Delta long before Compass. And Compass can have them. But who does more flights out of SFO than any other carrier? SkyWest. So I guess that might explain just a little bit of the United numbers, which are still better than their poster child, Mesa.

SkyWest didn't just have a good month of May for Delta, they are consistently #1 or #2 is all three metrics. What Delta hates is having to pay top dollar for the service. So what Delta really wants is 100% D:0, 100% A:14, and 100% CF for the money.

You must be the infamous bragger your colleague keeps talking about. And congratulations on Delta picking SKW to fly those routes long before Compass. Send the network guys in Atlanta a thank you card while you're at it.

Thank you Mr. Obvious.

It's pride, not bragging. And I was originally trying to show everyone else what was going on in the northwest in relation to the EMBs being pulled out. That there IS a future for SkyWest in the northwest (even more evident when you consider Boise as a new MX base). Yay, for Compass. We know how Delta rolls, multiple carriers in every hub to keep anyone from going Comair on them again.

There's a Compass thread if you would like to discuss Compass. You came to a SkyWest thread. Get over it.

Alaska you do realize you are fighting with a dispatcher right? The pilots don't care you guys are growing out west. There's is a ton of Delta expansion happening out west right now. The more the merrier.

I have enjoyed sitting around with some of your guys on overnights. Good folks.

Exactly, there is a reason the Ejet is on the shuttle and a host of new routes for Delta on the West Coast... its a nice airplane, and a lot more passenger friendly then the CRJ7/9. Before the shuttle existed, Delta operated LAX-SFO with a mix of RJ and mainline aircraft, neither of which had the amenities the shuttle provides today. So the point is moot that SkyWest used to operate it...

SkyWest also doesn't operate into SFO for Delta, except an occasional SLC/SFO flight every once in awhile so there is no impact on its performance when SFO sucks... if they were doing the hourly shuttle flights you would definitely see the performance numbers take a hit... but when you are operating a majority of your Delta branded flights from places such as MSP/SLC (consistently rated in the top 5 of most on-time airports) then you can see how the numbers may be skewed.

Mr. Alaska

I don't know why you are arguing. The pilots at SkyWest do not care about compass coming out west. I was on a compass jumpseat just the other day and they asked me if we were upset about them taking some of our routes. I said no, no one truly cares. Why don't we care? Because we are not losing planes, we are not losing block hours, and because delta is expanding out west so much we (and compass) are gaining many routes. You're not the first DCI carrier to come into SLC or anywhere out west besides SkyWest. So get over it

I see on APC.com that all new hires are going to the CRJ and ERJ. Any word on where the ERJ 175. Any news on where the ERJ might be based?
