We desperately need some movement everywhere. The few pilot friends I have left who aren't at the airlines yet are weary about Skywest due to the 8 year and climbing upgrades when every other carrier has massive attrition. West coast bases are hit the hardest but even in the junior bases you stay junior for what seems like forever. We had guys in my transition class who never held a line on the Brasilia even by the time they transitioned at a year.

Something is happening......
The June and July new hire class is to have 60 in each and the same upgrade classes have gone from 10 to 20, and that's just for the CRJ.
Apparently the training dept is scouring the earth for sim time?

Shhh don't tell anyone. They are also beefing up on dispatchers, schedulers, and mechanics. Not enforcing seat locks on the bro's, cancelling bro training and throwing everyone in RJ. hmmm yeah, something is up.

Could be that, but 20-30 pilots are leaving per month, which shows no sign of slowing down, and they're short RJ captains in most bases.

Like I said, those are the numbers I was told.
The source, a friend who is a FO ground instructor and is very solid, I.e. Not a koolaid drinker.
Maybe because of attrition or something else?
But that is what I was told.
Personally, I don't think they can get that many people to show up for class.
Really, two classes of 60?
