I bid 70% in one of our most junior bases so I'm not sure I believe that you're holding 15 days off with 85 credit as a 2 year FO. This month I was awarded 99 with 10 days off.

Where in my post did I say anything about not holding a line? The last time I was on reserve was a year and a half ago. All that I said is that 2 years seniority is actually pretty junior at a company with 7.5 year upgrades.

Of course you can do it that way if able, but PerpetualFlyer makes it sound like he somehow has seniority to be awarded that which I debate. Trades got a lot harder after 117. I've found it pretty hard to do anything other than trade for a different trip that falls on the same days as my awarded one.

I agree, being savvy with PBS and swapping/dropping will enable you to sweeten the schedule quite nicely.

I'm with rcfd, 2 years at SkyWest is not senior at all. 6 years full as FO now will not be top 30% in all of our bases. MSP is about the only RJ base that late 07 new hires and early 08 are senior FOs in base.
The definition of "holding" is what your seniority can hold. Swapping stuff on sked- has nothing to do with seniority.

Now that we're going into a time where staffing is an issue and block hours are high I don't think there's any way to bid lower credit. After you posted about having 2 years seniority and getting 85 hours I looked at my Required Minimum Line Credit from last month and it was 89 hours. There was no way PBS could have even given me a line with 85 hours and 15 days off.

How much could one expect to credit shooting for 12 or 13 days off?
