Because the pilots they represent don't want to take a huge paycut due to lost productivity. IF the rest rules were to reduce the average daily credit by 5% how long do you think it would take to get that back from the company (try forever). I don't want to work more days for the same money. Do you? At SKYW I honestly don't think we need new rest rules. I have called fatigued on multiple occasions and have never heard a word about it. We as pilots need to fight to be responsible for ourselves rather than have the man handling everything for us. The more of our authority we give to someone else, the less we are worth.

My pay is already down well over 5% due to the crummy pairings we keep getting from our fabulous PBS...

I was just curious as to who is was as I have flown with most all of them in the past. He doesn't have to post it, its not like they were convicted of molesting some animals, they got on with great carriers and are probably proud of it. You guys are so effing uptight.

We're not "uptight," just respectful of others privacy. Again, if they wanted it known they will tell you themselves.

Did you keep your pay after calling in fatigued?

I'm happy that the "30 block in 7 days" rule is gone and replaced by "60 duty in 7 days" while keeping the 100 block but relaxing it to 28 days instead of 30. Now, if you can build it you can block 6 days worth of 8 hour locals (48 hours of block in less than 7 days as long as you don’t exceed 60 hours of duty, get 30 hours off somewhere and meet the rest requirements in between) for 48 hours of pay, take nine days off do it again and get 18 days off with 96 hours of credit/block or more. If you’re rested why not? The 100 hour block rule then keeps the company from abusing you.
All in all I think the new rules are very good. I expected less with the way our government works.
